Volunteer
What better way to get in the holiday spirit than volunteering at Lights on the Lake? We're looking for upbeat, fun people to volunteer at the drive thru taking donations and handing out programs and also at the Hospitality Center where children can get their photo taken with Santa.
Volunteers working the drive thru will occupy two stations, one at the 29th street entrance and one at the 32nd street exit. We believe in providing a safe environment for all of our volunteers, so a security guard is on campus to patrol while the drive thru is open. A Heartspring representative will also be on campus to help each night. At least four volunteers are needed Monday-Thursday nights, and at least 8 volunteers are needed for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but keep in mind that an adult must accompany children under the age of 16. Hot chocolate, coffee, hand and foot warmers and heaters are provided for warmth.
Extra volunteers are needed on the weekends to work as Santa's helpers in the Hospitality Center. Volunteer duties include serving coffee and hot chocolate to guests, making sure there are plenty of cookies set out for our visitors and assisting with printing photos with Santa for our guests. Volunteers will rotate duties throughout the night so that everyone has an opportunity to come inside and warm up.
Heartspring is looking for music groups to perform at the Hospitality Center, every Friday - Sunday, November 27 - December 20.
Gather your friends, co-workers, club members or church groups and spend a fun night volunteering for a great cause. Companies may work one night or volunteer for the whole weekend, inserts will be put in the program stating that the night is being staffed by your company/organization.
Volunteers are also needed to help with the Lights on the Lake install on Saturday, October 31 and Saturday, November 7 from 8 am to 3 pm.
