What is Lights on the Lake?
Lights on the Lake, Heartspring's signature fundraising event, raised nearly $100,000 to benefit the children of Heartspring in 2010. Over 25,000 holiday light enthusiasts visited the Heartspring campus to gaze at thousands of lights, dozens of colorful displays and our 45-foot tree of lights. Sponsorships and donations received for Lights on the Lake will help more children with special needs achieve their full potential.
In 2011, the Light the Night launch party will take place on November 19th. This one-of-a-kind event features great food and entertainment, including a live and silent auction. From Thursday, November 24 through Sunday, December 25 the campus will be opened up to carloads of holiday light enthusiasts from all across the area as a drive thru holiday light event. Who Does it Benefit?
Since 1934, Heartspring has been one of the nation’s top facilities serving children with special needs. Originating in Wichita, Heartspring has grown to help children across the nation and around the world. Our mission, in partnership with parents, professionals and the community, is to help children with special needs grow and learn on a path to a more independent life. Heartspring provides greater independence for children with disabilities through the Heartspring School, Heartspring Pediatric Services, the Heartspring Hearing Center, Heartspring World Reach and the CARE Program at Heartspring.
Heartspring School is an internationally recognized program serving students ages 5-21. Our students come from all over the country and most have significant, multiple disabilities that require a highly specialized educational setting. Both residential and day school services are available. Heartspring Pediatric Services offers outpatient physical, occupational and speech-language therapies to over 700 children from birth through age 18 each year. Heartspring World Reach promotes excellence, innovation and dedication in serving children with special needs nationally and internationally. The vision of Heartspring's CARE Program is to meet the unique needs of families by providing resources, services and a community of collaboration centered on autism spectrum disorders.
