Lights on the Lake
Lights on the Lake 2009 helped culminate a year of special events as Heartspring celebrated 75 years of service to children with special needs. Thanks to tremendous support from Wichita and the surrounding communities, Lights on the Lake has become Heartspring’s signature special event.
Over 24,000 people made a trip to the Heartspring campus to marvel at our many displays, hundreds of thousands of lights, our 45-foot-tall tree of lights and the new custom displays including Candy Cane Court, donating a total of $29,000.
We are already looking forward to Lights on the Lake 2010 and hope to once again be part of your family’s holiday tradition.
Because of Heartspring events such as Lights on the Lake, children with special needs in our community are receiving the therapies and tools they need to help them reach their full potential. Last year, Heartspring Pediatric Services met the outpatient therapy needs of over 700 children with developmental disabilities. Pediatric Services clients come to Heartspring from 30 counties and 73 cities across the state of Kansas. The Financial Assistance Program, which is partially funded by Lights on the Lake proceeds, distributed over $253,000 in discounted therapies to 149 families. When you support Lights on the Lake, you truly make a difference in the life of a child.
